Picture People

Our local Picture People called us last week to see if we could bring the kids in for a photo shoot. Apparently they were wanting some new pictures up on their walls . . . . I wonder if they will end up using any pictures from our photo shoot? Here's a link to view our pictures!!

The Perfect Day

Today was such a great day. Emma and I hung out all morning while Tyler was at school. Then the 3 of us spent the afternoon swimming. The water is still a little bit cold, although the kids would never admit to it. I had to drag them out of the pool in time to meet Dave for dinner. After a quick bite to eat we went to watch the town championships for the 8U-13U divisions in Tyler's baseball league. He was in heaven.

My boys:)

Emma is quite the baseball fan these days. She wanted to climb up and watch part of the game too. After I took this picture I sat down next to her. She leaned over and said "Mommy I really miss Great-grandpa." I responded by saying "Me too." Then she said "But don't worry mom, he's right there watching us (and pointed to the sky)."

For Love of the Game

There are few things I enjoy more these days than watching Tyler and Dave share their love of baseball. Tyler is constantly counting the hours until his next game, next practice, or until Dave gets home from work so he can play ball. The two of them talk baseball all day long. It's priceless.

Today we went to a Roughriders game. The Frisco Roughriders are a double AA baseball team for the Texas Rangers. We had a great time at the game, despite the heat. Wow it was hot!!!! After the game the kids got to run the bases. Tyler did such a great job looking after Emma as she made her way around the bases. She was by far the littlest one out there but she ran the whole way. As we were heading out of the stadium we noticed a few players signing autographs. Tyler really wanted to walk over and try to get some autographs. He was able to get 2 autographs on his Roughriders hat (He walked up to the players all by himself and asked them to sign his hat). He was so excited and on a high for the rest of the day. Later this evening, Dave and Tyler were talking about the game. Tyler told Dave "Dad, I'm never going to forget this day. When I grow up and play professional baseball I'm going to make sure I always stop to sign autographs for little kids."

We Missed You Dad

Dave had an overnight business trip this past Friday night. The kids decided they wanted to surprise him with something when he came home.

Emma's Cake (Tyler helped with the writing and Emma added a LOT of sprinkles).

Tear Jerker

I forgot to share this story will all of you . . . I have to warn you that it's a tear jerker. Tyler shared a wonderful memory with me as we were watching Princess and the Frog last night. At the end of the movie one of the characters goes up to heaven and a new star appears in the sky. After we watched this part of the movie Tyler says "Hey Mom. Do you remember what the sky was like the day Great-grandpa went up to heaven? I sure do! The moon was shining extra bright that night. I sure miss Great-grandpa." I immediately began to tear up and feel so blessed that Tyler has so many memories of his great-grandpa. We love you great-grandpa!!!

Movie Night

Our town has Music on the Green every Friday night during the month of May. Different bands come in and play for about 2 hours. Tyler and Emma LOVE it. So when it started to rain today I had 2 devastated kids on my hands. I decided to cheer them up with a movie night. We put up the Aerobed in the family room to watch Princess in the Frog (Emma's choice) and Scooby Doo Abracadabra Doo (Tyler's choice). We all put on our pjs (Thanks for the new pjs Grandma Pam) and had a wonderful evening together!!!

I had to post what Tyler was up to this morning. After he finished his breakfast he asked me for some paper and a pencil because he needed to practice counting by 5's. Here's the finished product.

A Trip to Our Favorite Zoo

We took a trip to the Fort Worth Zoo today. We just LOVE this zoo!!! The weather was perfect and it wasn't too crowded so we ended up spending about 3 hours there.
