Baseball Camp

Today was Tyler's first day of baseball camp. He has been looking forward to camp for months and couldn't get out the door fast enough this morning. Dave stayed to watch the whole camp today and Emma and I came over in the afternoon. As I sat there and watched Tyler I became overwhelmed with pride. He hustled after the ball, listened closely to the coach, and tried to apply all of the techniques he was being taught. I looked over at Dave and could tell he was feeling the exact same thing. It was really a treasured mommy moment for me. Watching Tyler's love for the game and love of playing the game is truly an amazing experience. Tyler you are such a wonderful young man! You will be able to achieve anything in life with your determination and work ethic. You remind me so much of another amazing man I know . . . . Your father!!!!!!! Love you and can't wait to watch you play some ball this week.

Here are some pictures I took as he was leaving for camp today!

Our First Texas Roadtrip

We took our first roadtrip in Texas this past weekend. TCU and UT were competing in the Super Regionals for college baseball so we headed to Austin as an early Father's Day present to Dave. I don't know who was more excited to go . . . Dave or Tyler. Tyler has already told us that wants to go to either UT or OU before he plays professional baseball for the Yankees. Our son definitely sets high expectations for himself!!! We had a great time and absolutely loved the town of Austin. As always the kids thought staying in a hotel was pretty exciting. We took lots of elevator rides. Saturday night we took a pedicab around downtown and saw the state capitol. We went out to breakfast at the Driskill Hotel Sunday morning. It's a 125 year old hotel that is absolutely beautiful. We then headed over to the stadium. As we got close to the stadium we couldn't see anything but a sea of orange. What an experience!!!!!! Our seats we front row on the first base side of the stadium. Emma thought it was too hot to sit in our seats and wanted to watch the game from the concession stands. She also told me it was too hot to take pictures so that's why you only see pictures of Tyler at the game. Dave and and Tyler thought the seats were perfect and loved being so close to the field. It was a close game but UT ended up getting beat. I thought Tyler handled the loss well. We can't wait to go back and visit Austin again!!!!!

Rectial Pics

Today was the big day and Emma did such a great job at her recital!!!! She was so brave up on the stage performing her 2 routines and enjoyed every minute of it. After the recital Tyler gave her a bouquet of pink roses and told her "Emma we are so proud of you. You did such a great job." Well said Tyler!!!!!!!!

Recital Time

Well today was dress rehearsal for Emma's dance recital. She has really enjoyed dance class, although she told one of her little friends today that she doesn't want to do dance anymore she wants to do soccer. So it looks like we'll be moving on to soccer soon . . . . yea!!!! Her class is performing 2 routines at the recital. One ballet routine and one tap routine. I promise to take lots of pictures tomorrow. Enjoy . . . .

Here's a video of the ballet routine. Sorry I was so far away. Emma is the second dancer from the right.

The First Season Comes to an End

Well Tyler's first baseball season is over. He is pretty upset about it and is counting the days until baseball camp and fall ball. The Jayhawks improved so much this season and Tyler loved every minute on the field. Here are a few pictures from the last game.
