Batter Up!!!
Today was Tyler's first baseball game and he's been looking forward to it for weeks. Tyler is playing on the Jayhawks this season and wearing the number 7. He had 2 at bats and hit the ball on the first pitch each time. He also made a couple of plays in the infield. He had such a good time that it took us close to 4 hours to get him to take off his uniform. He's already counting the days until his next game . . .

Happy Birthday Emma
It's hard to believe that 3 years ago today . . . Dave and I were standing in our bedroom trying to decide if he should go to work or not. Since I was having so many mild contractions he decided he'd better stay close to home. By about 10'o'clock my contractions had continued so we decided to call the doctor. Luckily our dear friends Kirstie, James, and Sienna were visiting so they were able to hang out with Tyler while we went over to the doctor's office. By the time I saw the doctor I was 5 centimeters dilated and the doctor told me it was a good thing I came in because I was close to having a fireman deliver Emma. Yikes!!!! We headed straight to the hospital and Emma was born around 12:30. I guess she was ready to join this world. What can I say about Miss Emma . . .she is the sweetest, most adorable little girl. She loves My Little Pony, dancing, riding her bike, playing with Tyler, and any kind of animal. She has the best big brother in the whole wide world who plays My Little Ponies with her all the time (only because she asks him in the sweestest little voice "Tyler will you please play ponies with me?"). She loves to give hugs and kisses and has grown up so much lately. Her tummy still bothers her on occasion but she has come so far from the hurting little one she used to be. We no longer have diapers, toddler beds, or babies in our house. I'm still not quite sure how I feel about that but I know that we are loving every minute with our kids right now and they are at such fun ages. Happy 3rd Birthday Emma!!!!!!!!!!
Here's a video clip of the kids riding their razor scooters outside. It was getting dark so we only rode for a few minutes (that's why we don't have our helmets on I promise). At the end of the clip Emma takes a little fall but recovered well and wanted to keep riding. As you can see she loves her new razor and she can't wait to take it on the trail behind our house tomorrow (after Tyler's first baseball game).

What a Difference a Day Makes
So here's a picture of Miss Emma yesterday. We started the day with a haircut, which is a very exciting activity for Emma because so often she just watches Tyler get a haircut. While Tyler was still at preschool we did some shopping at Old Navy and Target. Too bad we didn't shop a little faster because we got drenched by a short lived thunder storm on our way home. Then Tyler, Emma, and I spent all afternoon at the park with some friends. Emma seemed to be feeling pretty well, still recovering from our failed dairy introduction, but who would have guessed a 103 degree fever was in her near future.
Needless to say, Emma has felt terrible most of the day. We are hoping she perks up a little by morning otherwise I think a trip to the doctor is on the agenda for tomorrow. Despite being so sick, Emma still managed to sing "Happy Birthday" to me and enjoyed some of my birthday cake that Dad brought home tonight. Her brother has been a great helper and took wonderful care of her all day today. After lunch she asked me if she could take a nap. I can honestly say that in almost 3 years she has NEVER asked for a nap. Blacky gets really upset when the kids cry or aren't feeling well. He followed Emma around all day and this is where I found him during nap time. Blacky is the strangest cat. I think he's really a dog in a cat's body.

House Pictures
Okay Heather this one is just for you . . . I've been promising and promising I'd put some pictures up on the blog and I'm so sorry it has taken me this long to do it. Please forgive my lighting since I took the pictures during kid friendly time and it clearly wasn't the best lighting in most of the pictures. As you can see we still haven't hung any pictures yet. All in due time is what I keep telling myself. But despite our bare walls we LOVE our new home! Emma's new big girl furniture comes tomorrow and we will slowly but surely fill up this place. I didn't take any pictures of our downstairs guest room (which we refer to as grandma and grandpa's room) or our extra bedroom upstairs (which is empty right now). I attached a link for a virtual tour of our floor plan just in case you didn't see it before. The front of our house is a little different because we chose to build another elevation, but hopefully you will now have a good feel for our home. We'd love to have visitors anytime . . . .
Enjoying the Weather
The weather today was amazing so the kids and I decided to go for a walk. While we were out and about we discovered a new trail that goes right along the pond by our house. The kids loved walking on the muddy trail and watching all of the ducks and turtles in the pond. Tyler headed home on his scooter and Emma on her bike. Once we got home they rode around on the driveway singing Christmas songs for about 30 minutes. So cute.

A Fun Sunday
The kids and I had a fun day today! We spent the morning playing around in the playroom since it was raining. Then we headed out for a movie. We saw the Princess and the Frog, which both kids enjoyed. As we were leaving the theater Tyler told me that this had been a great day. I just love when he says things like that!!!! After the movie, Emma and I were able to talk Tyler into going shopping. As we were shopping, Tyler told me he only likes things with the guy riding the horse on it (Polo . . . nice taste Tyler). So he picked out two polo shirts. Emma told me she likes only pink things and picked out a pick tutu (because that's just what she needs is another tutu) and a pink skirt. I talked her into a cute little striped dress too. Here are a few pics of them in their new clothes. We are counting the hours until Dave gets home. He's been in Miami Beach since Thursday and we can't wait to see him!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Tyler has a little cut in his mouth and wasn't able to smile too well:(
Notice the baseball hat! He may change the hat but some type of baseball hat is always on that handsome head.
Rainout
Every morning Tyler wakes up and asks me if he has practice today. He is beyond in love with baseball and wears his baseball hat and baseball clothes everyday. He was so excited when he went to bed last night because he was supposed to have a makeup baseball practice today. Well, when he woke up it was raining and all I heard this morning was: "Why is it raining? Go away rain. This stinks!" It was hilarious. Since we couldn't practice outside we decided to practice a little inside. I took a picture of what I call Tyler's home run face. He gets this look when he is about to swing the bat really hard. I LOVE it.
